I have been trying my hardest to get my 2021 most anticipated books list to a manageable size. I could in no way get it to a manageable size. So I am switching the format to a quarterly on my radar/most anticipated type list.
Hopefully, I will be reading at least most of these books throughout the year! Once I have a review of each book, I will be linking my reviews here!
January
Lore by Alexandra Bracken January 5th YA Fantasy
This is a book I will certainly be reading in January, no question. I am completely in love with Alexandra Brackenās writing, and I am so excited for her stand-alone urban fantasy with Greek gods running amuck. I am so excited about this book.
The World Between Blinks by Amie Kaufman and Ryan Graudin January 5th MG Fantasy
I really just love Amie Kaufman and want to read all her middle grade so I can be completely caught up on all of her books. I have never read anything by Ryan Graudin but I own a book or two by her and maybe this will push me to pick her solo books up! Also, 2020 was stressful, and we could all use some fun middle grade adventure.
Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas January 12th YA Fiction
This is the prequel to The Hate U Give following Maverick, Starrās father when he was 17. I love Angie Thomas on social media and I obviously really loved her first book when I read it (I think 3 years ago). I will certainly be reading this in 2020, probably in January.
You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism by Amber Ruffin, Lacey Lamar January 12th Memoir
I love memoir, and I love Amber Ruffin. This book about her sister, Lacey, and her experience being a black woman living in an area that is mostly white seems like an excellent funny, and poignant book. I will be reading this as soon as I can.
February
The Project by Courtney Summers February 2nd YA Mystery
After Sadie, I am sure there are many many people who want to devour anything mystery/thriller Courtney Summers puts out into the world. I think this book is cultish, and I am jazzed. I really should dive into Summers backlog.
Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain February 2nd Nonfiction
This is a history book covering Black America from 1619 to 2019. I love listening to or reading long nonfiction, I would imagine this will be something I will listen to on audio for February and I am so interested to learn.
The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna February 9th YA Fantasy
I donāt know a ton about this book except that it has an amazing cover and has been getting great reviews. It seems to have magic and war and focuses on teen soldiers. I would guess it dives into the trauma of that experience, I really like fantasy that tackles very real-world issues in a secondary world setting.
A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J Maas February 16th Adult Fantasy
Sarah J Maas is continuing the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, and I am going to read it on release day.
March
Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare March 2nd YA Fantasy
I have not read book one in this series yet, but I will be reading it soon! I genuinely love the Shadowhunters Chronicles and am always ready to read more!
In the Quick by Kate Hope Day March 2nd Adult Science Fiction
All I know about this book is that the cover is amazing and it is about a lady astronaut and it might have a sapphic love story. I am here, and I will be reading this book.
Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab March 2nd MG Fantasy
I love Victoria Schwab and am only a few books off having read everything she has published (Vengeful, The Unbound, and her Everyday Angles middle-grade series). I do specifically love this series, it is a fun and scary time following a girl (and her ghost best friend) who can see ghosts as her parents film their ghost hunting show in the worldās most haunted cities. I love it.
Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert March 9th Adult Romance
I am one book behind in this series, but I will hopefully be caught up by release day! I loved book one, and I really need to read book two asap! This is a fun companion book trilogy following three sisters as they are wooed by three charming folks! Book one is enemies to lovers, the second is fake dating, and I think this one is an opposites attract situation.
Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas March 23rd YA Fantasy
Cemetery Boyās was one of my favorite books of 2020 and this was the book Thomas wrote before that. I am so excited to see his take on the Peter Pan story. It sounds wonderful.
Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo March 30th YA Fantasy
Hello, I will read all the Leigh Bardugo publishes. I will probably do it on release day. Also, I do want to to a complete Grishaverse reread before the Shadow and Bone Netflix show comes out in April. This could be an excellent cap to that reread if I do the entire series. If not, I will be reading it in March.
