On this World AIDS Day maybe you want to learn more about the AIDS epidemic? And The Band Played On by Randy Shilts is an excellent place to read about the history of this disease. He takes you in depth on the science, the public policy that lead to such a crisis, and into the lives of those effected by HIV and AIDS.
I learned so much while reading this book, I’m about halfway though and with every page I am floored by how in-depth this book is without being hard to read. The sadness that surrounds the content has made me read this book slowly, but being through while reading has made the impact on me greater.
Everyone should read this book.
