I was listening to a recent episode of the podcast Wonderful where Rachel talked about crossword puzzles. It reminded me that I do really love doing crosswords and made me think about how they are made.
I decided to make a list of words from one of my favorite book series and try my hand at crossword puzzle making. What you see below is the result of that effort. It turns out that making crosswords is more complicated and more time-consuming than I expected. Even with the unexpected aspects, I enjoyed doing it so much I have made a whole series of them, and have lots more ideas!
This crossword in particular covers characters from The Witchlands series by Susan Dennard, information from Truthwitch, Windwitch, Sightwitch, and Bloodwitch was all fair game while I was creating the puzzle but have already begun work on making puzzles for each of the books individually. And I assume the more I practice, the better I will become at making them, starting with trying to write neater. That could be a lost cause though.
If you find any errors or have suggestions feel free to comment below or to fill out the form linked below the puzzle! I am currently unable to make the PDF into a fillable form; I am working on finding a solution so that this puzzle and future puzzles can be more easily filled out without having to print them.
I will have an answers copy uploaded next week on the post with my next puzzle, which should be a general Shadowhunterās world puzzle (followed by Harry Potter and the Sorcererās Stone). The puzzles are all completely made by hand and I am learning as I keep making more!
