Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

May 2018: apparently May is when I gush about Harry Potter.
Totally thought I was going to make it through this reread without crying. Then either the Harry Lupin or the Harry Dumbledore talk made me cry. Probably Dumbledore. Actually 100% Dumbledore.
I love book three so much. Again Rowling puts together a plot like nobodyā€™s business. Totally every scene does like seven things and it makes me so happy. So much foreshadowing in this book. I really defend my position that the shirt in the series happens in book three and not book four. Just my opinion. But I could maybe write a thesis about it. I really wish I was in the position to write a thesis about Harry Potter. That would rock. Wrock. Wizard rock joke. Oliver Boyd and the Remembralls is a legit great artist.
Back to this book. I loved the different ways Rowling approached the feelings of loss and fear. Dementors are clearly a depression, boggarts showing fear, and then the many times in the book Harry is pressed into his own tragedy. I also appreciate the stance on the death penalty. So much of me was formed by these books. It is sort of astounding.

I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads
