Hunger: A Memoir of my Body by Roxane Gay

This book is amazing. Gay describes herself with a kind of honesty I could never imagine giving anyone. She is matter of fact, but her language is often quite beautiful, and her story is sad, except when it’s happy, but she is not asking for the reader to pity her.
I am late to the Roxane Gay game, I own Bad Feminist (which I have read a good percentage of many times) and An Untamed State but this is her first book I have finished. And I will be working my way through all her books this year. Roxane Gay is an amazing writer.
I am kind of shocked I did not cry while reading this book, my eyes welled up and I did a lot of shaking with anger (and laughed a few times, girl is funny) but never cried. Maybe because I listened to the audio while driving.
I loved this book and everyone should read it.

I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads and read it from January 9th to the 10th, 2018.
