Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

Cried three times. Laughed every few pages. Currently crying.
I fucking love Leah.
I fucking love Becky. Becky 100% writes people on a very people way and I adore her. And I love Potter references. And Hamilton references. And if someone read Harry Potter for me I totally would have made out with them at prom. Or just been super jazzed.
Here there be slight vague spoilers! I don’t love the whole ‘the friend group has drama cause they switch who is dating who within the group’ thing, but that totally happens in real life (I knew three girls who rotated one boy, it was bizarre). But that like almost made me rate this book a star down, but I do really think the joy this book gave me surpassed that.
No more slight vague spoilers.
I wanted to squish Simons face all over again.
This is a great squishy fluffy contemporary from the POV of a ball of angst. It is the best. Also, I really want these fake people to stay friends. Which is always weird. And like I’m graduating from college next week so this hit me right in the feels in a very real way. I am 100% Simon with things ending.

I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads and read it on April 25th, 2018. I am behind on posting these.
