Save the Date by Morgan Matson

Save the Date by Morgan Matson

The most fun YA I can remember reading. It’s a farce, a giant family holding a wedding at the family house that is about to be sold, what can go wrong will go wrong type situation. But it’s emotional core is so strong. It is hilarious, I laughed many times, and I cried three times. Matson really knows how to hit those emotional beats.
The narrator, Charlie, is the youngest of five and the only one still living in her family home after her siblings have all spread out. But they are all coming back for her oldest sisters wedding and she is determined to make it the perfect event. The books takes place mostly on the day before the wedding and the day of, but the next day is there too and their are bread before and after parts. Disputed this short times period the emotional growth of Charlie does not seems rushed or unreasonable.
I’m just very impressed with this book. I enjoyed it so much.

I gave this 5 stars on Goodreads and read it on June 22, 2018.
