The Golden Tower by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

The Golden Tower by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare

This was such a fun series!

The ending was so clever and was a satisfactory ending to the series. Every plotline felt wrapped up nicely, there were happy endings and sad endings and I enjoyed it!

I really love the characters in this series! I wish we had been able to spend more time with Gwenda in earlier books because I loved her in this book, she was wonderful. I still love Jasper the asshole (I know this is a middle-grade review and I probably should not swear but here we are) who does not know how to people and has a very dramatic love life. Despite him being rude 100% of his life he still does the right thing as much as possible even if he does complain about it the whole time. Aaron and Tamara and Call, of course, continued to be an adorable trio who resits paralleling the other adorable trio at a magic school we all love. Allistor solidifies his badass parent status, it is wonderful to have a middle-grade series with very involved parents where the parents and children are seen to be affecting the other group. Master Rufus does the mentor thing very well.

If these two authors put out another series (middle grade or otherwise) I will totally be down.

I gave this book 4 stars on Goodreads and finished reading it on October 11th, 2018.
