Rick Riordan
Book 9 of 50
So I was three books behind so I again ran to a series to jump start the reading process. I like to know how stories end and series let you read many books before you know then ending which was just what I needed! I am now two books behind.
So despite my age being like 5-10 years older than the age group Rick Riordan’s books (his non-detective ones at least) are targeted to I love his writing. It is adorable, funny, and well thought out. And the mythology being incorporated into the book just makes it cooler. I enjoyed this book just as much as I remember enjoying the first one. The story is told by magician sister and brother pair Sadie and Carter Kane and they are so wonderful. This book made me realize the slight preference of Carter was unjust and now I love both Kane children equally.
If you like the Percy Jackson books- or their continuation series- you will like the Kane Chronicles. They have all the things you love about Rick Riordan, but are still different enough to not feel like you are rehashing Percy’s journey in a new setting.Ā
