Everybody Sees the Ants by A.S. King
This book is about a buy names Lucky who has neglectful and dysfunctional parents, bullies at school that plague him, and a secret escape from all his worries. When he sleeps he leaves out world and is transported to the Jungles of Vietnam to try and save his grandfather.
I really loved this book and I will totally be picking up more A.S. King. This book took on many big issues people have to deal with and still made the book funny. This book also makes you completely empathize with Lucky and really root for his life to improve. I am making it sound so sad but the book actually made me laugh out loud a few times.
