The Darkest Minds

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

This book. This book was very good. I am going to buy Never Fade tomorrow morning. I need more of this story!

The book is set in an alternate reality where all children became infected with a disease that either killed them or made them into mutants with crazy mind powers. The part with dying children is cherry compared to what happens to the living children! They are hunted down and put into work camps while the government is spreading propaganda about how dangerous the kids are and how they are fixing them. Then the story takes off from there! It is very good.

I loved the characters, the world building, and the awesome plot line. I also loved the way the book ended, it made me want more while still having a conclusive end of the first part of the story. Some cliff hanger type endings (which this one isn’t totally but almost is) make the book seem to have not ended while you wait for part two and don’t have any sense of conclusion. I loved it. The ending was gut wrenching in the best way possible.

In short Alexandra Bracken is my new hero. And I want Never Fade. I will probably go buy In Time on my iPad right now.

Book 33 of 50!
