The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
I do believe this is my absolute hands down favorite book of this year. I was thoroughly captivated in this story and felt genuinely moved by it. It had everything I love in a book.
The book is a story about Le Cirque des Reves, a circus that appears overnight with no notice (“The circus arrives without warning.”) and opens at dusk then closes at dawn. The story follows many people and is woven wonderfully together in an epic fairy tale that is completely wonderful.
This book does have a slow build but I really enjoyed the pace of this book because it allowed you to sink into the world and really luxuriated in the world.
Book 54 of 50.
