City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
July 2018 reread: I changed my original rating. I originally gave this 3 stars. I think the girl on girl hate (that is resolved before the book ends), the love triangle, along with my own ‘I am to cool for urban fantasy’ thing that is completely bullshit caused me to rate it three stars. And maybe I really was only sort of into it. But the fact that I started City of Ashes two days later (I assume this is shipping time or time until I could go to a bookstore) and finished it in a day leads me to believe I liked this more than I said.
I was SO ANXIOUS while reading this book. And I know what is going to happen. I dreaded the sibling reveal. All of Ashes is going to be distressing. I believe we get the correction in Glass.
I had forgotten how much Luke is in this one! And how early on you get to see who the other characters are. I’m so excited to continue on. I love rereading.
And I totally cried when Simon and Clary are being all best buddies in the beginning. Mostly because I recently finished Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy I assume.
I gave this 4 stars on Goodreads and finished it on July 18th, 2018.
